What are the requirements for a minor to travel alone?

Children can travel alone on LATAM fl ights when they are over 8 years old. Children up to 11 years old require Unaccompanied Minor service. LATAM staff will take care of your children throughout the entire journey, including stopovers, and will take them to the person responsible for them at the end of the trip.

Children between 12 and 17 years old may travel on their own. However, you can request this service for them. Please call our Contact Center at least 48 hours before your fl ight or go to one of our Sales Offices if you would like this service.

Please remember that minors traveling alone need permission from a parent or guardian if they are traveling on an international fl ight. On international flights, all minors, whether traveling alone or accompanied, must carry with them their birth certifi cate or family record book. For more information, please go to our Children traveling alone section.
