Yes. If your baby is 7 days old or less, you will need a medical certificate, issued at least 10 days before the trip. Send us the document through the contact form at least 48 hours before your flight.
If your baby is under 2 years old, there are two options:
You can travel in the same seat if you purchase your ticket and a baby fare; except on domestic flights within Brazil and Chile (except Easter Island), where babies don’t pay for a fare or taxes.
As a courtesy, you can request a baby belt that connects to the belt on your seat. This is subject to availability and must be used following our crew’s indications.
Another option is for your baby to travel in its own seat. For this option, you have to purchase a child fare and travel with a chair that is certified for use on the airplane or an Aviation Child Safety Device (ACSD) for children weighing between 10 and 20 kilos (approximately 22 and 44 pounds).
For trips with LATAM Airlines Brasil (domestic and international flights departing from Brazil), you can request that we provide you with a free safety seat. This seat is placed on top of the airplane seat and provides safe travel for children weighing up to 25 kilos. You must request this service at least 72 hours before your flight. It’s subject to availability on the flight.
